November’s critical elections are just over a month away and we’re ramping up our political coverage on The Agenda this week. Joining us for Point of View will be Howard Fineman- Newsweek’s Chief Political Correspondent and general Washington ‘man-in-the-know.’ Dishing a bit on the lighter side of politics will be Mary Ann Akers who writes the must-read column “Heard on the Hill” for Roll Call.
Civil rights icon, NAACP Chair and GLBT advocate Julian Bond will talk to Joe about how he views the GLBT rights movement in the context of other civil rights struggles.
We’ll also have a report on Southern Comfort - the world’s largest conference for transgender people - and a chat with Coming Out Project director Mark Shields. I’ll present a package on adoptions by GLBT parents and Ellen Kahn, HRC’s Family Project director will join us in studio.
Send us your feedback at TheAgenda@hrc.org and join in the conversations on Monday by calling 877/9-AGENDA (that’s 877-924-3632).
