Tonight we bring you a special "Election Eve" edition of The Agenda with Joe Solmonese. We’ve thrown out our usual format and are going to get down and dirty with the issues, the advertisements and the horse races that have made this election season a thrill to watch.

First up, we’ll take a look at the eight states that have ballot measures banning marriage and in some cases even civil unions and domestic partnerships for same-sex couples.

Then our focus will be on four key states – Connecticut, New Jersey, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Connecticut has three vulnerable House Republicans and their defeat could be an early warning that it will be a good night for Democrats. Republican Rep. Chris Shays’ campaign manager will join us. In New Jersey, Sen. Bob Menendez is running tight with Tom Kean Jr. and we’ll look at how the recent marriage decision could play a role there. In Ohio, Rep. Sherrod Brown is the favorite in the Senate race against incumbent Sen. Mike DeWine, and Brown will join us to explain why GLBT issues are important to him. Finally, in Pennsylvania Bob Casey has a good chance of unseating notoriously anti-gay Sen. Rick Santorum. In all of these states we’ll talk to someone from the campaigns as well as a local political reporter to give us the skinny.

Pulling back to 30,000 feet, we’ll take a broad look at the electoral landscape. First I’ll have a package on some of the more outrageous and controversial advertisements this cycle. Then Juan Williams of NPR and Fox News Channel will join us to count seats and make a few predictions.

To close out the show, columnist and author Dan Savage will be on the program to give his perspective on these midterm elections. Savage is of course famous for his crusade against anti-gay Sen. Rick Santorum.
