Joe was out of town this Monday so we were delighted to have Kevin Naff, editor of The Washington Blade, join us as guest host. We thought we’d also bring in some more GLBT news editors for a roundtable discussion on the news of the day and year in Point of View. Susan Ryan-Volmer of Bay Windows in Boston and Cynthia Laird of The Bay Area Reporter in San Francisco were our guests.

In The News segment, we talked with Jeanne White, mother of AIDS activist Ryan White, on the passage of the CARE Act reauthorization that was named for her heroic son. Listen to the segment here

Since the celebration of Hanukkah begins this week, we had Rabbi Denise Eger join us to talk about the holiday season and the recent decision by the Conservative branch of Judaism to allow openly gay and lesbian rabbis as well as the blessing of same-sex unions. You can listen to Eger here

We always say that the GLBT community is everywhere, and the work of Gary Gates has proven that fact. Gates is a senior research fellow at The Williams Institute — the UCLA Law School’s pre-eminent think tank on GLBT issues. Having co-written The Gay & Lesbian Atlas, he is the nation’s leading expert on GLBT demography and geography. Hear Gates’ insights here

Finally, New York Times columnist Bob Morris, who writes the must-read Style column "The Age of Dissonance," joined us to talk about the madness of the holiday season. Hear Morris in parts one and two
