This week we had an exciting edition of The Agenda as it was our first to be broadcast on XM Online. Now every Monday’s show will be available on a continuous loop on XM Online channel 134 starting at 10 p.m. ET following our live broadcast from 6 - 8 p.m. ET (and that’s still on channel 200 on your XM radio). If you’re already an XM subscriber, XM Online is already a part of your service. If you don’t have XM, it’s available as a standalone service for $7.99 a month. Here’s the best part: in conjunction with our online launch, you can enjoy an extended two-week free trial of The Agenda and the entire XM Radio Online lineup at no cost through March 31. To mark the occasion of our first online show, we had a cavalcade of fantastic guests. Joe had a sit-down with New York Times columnist Frank Rich who had a lot to say on everything from proclaiming the end of political gay bashing to the presidential horse race. On the other side of the political spectrum, conservative pundit Tucker Carlson — host of MSNBC’s Tucker— talked to Joe and Mary about his support for same-sex marriage but the reservations he has with other GLBT issues. Listen to our interview with Carlson here.
Funny lady Kate Clinton joined us live from New York to talk about her new DVD, politics and the general state of our world. Listen to the segments one and two.
We looked at two ends of the age spectrum this week. First we talked with Scott Keeter of the Pew Research Center on a study of the attitudes of Generation Next. Then we talked about GLBT senior living communities with Gerard Koskovich of the Lesbian and Gay Aging Issues Network of the American Society on Aging. Finally, I talked to Carrie Evans about her new report on the state of the states for GLBT equality.
