We had taken a few weeks off for the holidays but we were back again last night on The Agenda with Joe Solmonese with a fresh new show. The topic should be obvious – the presidential primaries and caucuses.
Leading off the show we looked back at Iowa where Sen. Barak Obama won on Thursday night. HRC’s Rachel Balick was in the Hawkeye State for the event and she joined us to give an on-the-ground perspective.
Then we continued our examination of Iowa with University of Iowa Professor David Redlawsk. He’s an expert on polling and elections and helped us sort out the winners and losers from last week.
Moving to New Hampshire on the eve of their big contest, we read the political tea leaves with Mike Pride, long-time editor of the Concord Monitor. He’s a seasoned observer of Granite State politics and shared his insights on both the Republican and Democratic contenders. Listen to parts one and two.
But the question remains, how does all of this play in the big picture? To answer that, we were joined for the 30,000 foot view by ABC News Senior Political Reporter Rick Klein. This regular Agenda guest came to us live from the ABC News filing center in Manchester, New Hampshire, and helped look down the road toward the next early states and Super Tuesday.
Listen in.
Finally, we covered the coverage with Glenn Greenwald of Salon.com. How the media tells the story is critical to understanding how people think about politics and he gave his perspective on the media’s “pack mentality.”
Listen in.
