We were revved up last night on The Agenda with Joe Solmonese for today’s exciting primary contests in Ohio, Texas, Rhode Island and Vermont. And as we do on big primary eves, we brought you a dedicated political show.
We started out looking through a GLBT lens with Eric Resnick of the Gay People’s Chronicle in Cleveland, Ohio. Resnick scored a sit-down interview with Senator Hillary Clinton last week on her views on GLBT issues. Listen in.
Then we took a look at the big picture with Michael Goodwin of the New York Daily News. He covers the political beat and talked about his column that wonders why Sen. Obama hasn’t been able to deliver a knockout punch to Sen. Clinton.
Joe and co-host Mary Breslauer drilled in on two important states – Ohio and Texas. First, Jon Riskind – the Washington bureau chief for the Columbus Dispatch – was our guest. Then with a Texas perspective we welcomed Jim Moore, a former journalist and author of Bush’s Brain and Bush’s War for Reelection. Listen in.
The political ad wars are heating up so media consultant Maura Dougherty was our guest. We listened to some of the latest ads and looked at the strategies, messages and budgets of Sens. Clinton, McCain and Obama. Listen in.
Finally, we love the lighter side of politics so we welcomed back Agenda favorite Dan Savage. His syndicated column Savage Love is read by millions and he discussed his time on the campaign trail and how GLBT issues may be used this cycle. Listen in.
