Joe and co-host Mary Breslauer were reunited this week on The Agenda with Joe Solmonese now that Mary’s back from working against Prop 8 in California. The show had a lot of Election Day wrap-up as well as a look toward the future.

Leading off the show, we talked to David Mendell, who has written a new book on the President Elect. “Obama: From Promise to Power” follows the Senator from his days as a community organizer and constitutional law professor to hist most recent history making campaign. Following up on a story we covered several weeks ago, we took a look at the electoral process and how the mechanics of voting fared. Jonah Goldman of the Lawyer’s Committee on Civil Rights Under Law was our guest to talk about trouble spots on Election Day, the recounts in some key races and the prospects for election law reform. We love a good travel story and this week we took a look at a less traveled destination… Bloomington, Indiana. In the state that turned Democratic, Blooming tops the list of the best gay small towns from The Advocate and Out. We talked to Rob DeCleene, the director of tourism in this surprisingly gay-friendly small town. Download or listen:

Unraveling the LGBT side of Tuesday’s election, Kevin Naff, editor of the Washington Blade was our guest. We looked at the victories and the huge losses, from CA’s Prop 8 to the adoption ban in Arkansas and how the new Congress and President will fare on LGBT issues. Download or listen:

Finally we were thrilled to welcome lobbyist Robert Raben in-studio. He’s the president of the Raben Group and shared his insights on what to expect in the transition to a Barack Obama administration including the prospects for LGBT appointments and pro-LGBT legislation. Download or listen:
