It was a bicoastal show last night with Joe Solmonese at the helm in DC and co-host Mary Breslauer live from Los Angeles on The Agenda.

Kicking off the show we looked at two of the three marriage amendment fights going on across the country. First, Steve Smith the chief campaign strategist for No on 8 in California joined us to discuss the state of the campaign and their strategies in the weeks ahead. Download or listen:

Then to Arizona, which became the first state in 2006 to defeat constitutional ban on marriage for same-sex couples. Arizona State Rep. Kyrsten Sinema ran the successful campaign in 2006 and she joined us to talk about how this year’s fight is shaping up with a narrowed version of the amendment. Download or listen:

Keeping our eyes on politics in the states, we welcomed a candidate for Congress from Minnesota’s 3rd congressional district. Iraq War veteran Ashwin Madia is running in an open seat in a competitive district outside of Minneapolis. He discussed his support of LGBT equality and how the campaign is progressing. Download or listen:

Turning to national politics, we welcomed Chris Beam who writes for the Trailhead blog at Slate.com. With the vice presidential debate still in the rearview mirror and the next presidential matchup upon us, Beam gave us an overview of the political landscape.

And of course with HRC’s national dinner this past Saturday, we had to give some highlights. We shared remarks from both Sen. Hillary Clinton as she filled in for Sen. Joe Biden and financial guru Suze Orman accepting the national equality award.
